Real Stories, Real Impact: Our Work in Action
Permanency Support Program (PSP) Learning Hub
Curijo was successful in winning the leadership and responsibility project to manage the NSW PSP Learning Hub. A state-wide learning and support service for families, caseworkers, managers, services, and departmental staff in all aspects of better understanding the permanency systems of the Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) sector, including twelve key practice areas.
Our Approach
Curijo has established an experienced and productive team who have supported the establishment, development, design and delivery of the PSP Learning Hub. The project’s delivery is underpinned by stakeholder engagement, consultation, stocktake of documents, communications, learning delivery and evaluation. We enact these through our 5 key approaches: Quality evidence-based resources and training, 12 practice areas – identified knowledge and skills, Professional communities- shared learning, Ongoing collaboration and evaluation, Risk management – removing barriers. The approach included factsheets, training sessions, coaching sessions and a telephone support service.
Our Result
The PSP Learning Hub has been delivered on schedule, including practice areas, delivered face-to-face and online with programmed webinars that have deepened the knowledge, developed practice skills and supported sector connections across the NSW OOHC permanency sector. The success of this work has included a project extension with consistent positive feedback.

Leadership Summit Workshop
Curijo was engaged to design, develop and facilitate a conference workshop for the Leadership Institute annual Indigenous Leadership Conference, to support leadership growth and development for Indigenous and non-Indigenous conference participants. The program needed to be flexible, interactive, engaging and Culturally responsive to meet the needs of the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
Our Approach
Our approach to the design, development and facilitation included of the presentation and workshop ensuring Culturally safe practices in leadership, Indigenous and western models of leadership and self-growth for leadership in supporting Cultural safety, and skill development in leadership. The presentation and workshop design approach was to meet the leadership needs of leaders in organisations across Australia.
Our Result
The conference saw hundreds of people in attendance with a successful outcome. Feedback received from both the presentation and workshop was positive with a focus on leadership that is Culturally responsive and provided confidence and skill building in leadership to implement in organisations. This has been successful and Curijo was invited to conduct an additional workshop in the 2024 Indigenous Leadership Summit.

Cultural Capability Program
Curijo was engaged by the Department of Health to co-design, develop, implement and evaluate a national interactive learning program called Cultural Capability Program for all employees on DOH’s context, Culture and environment to support DOH Closing the Gap commitment and initiatives.
Our Approach
Our approach to the collaboration with DOH included project planning, literature review, current learning solution review, training needs analysis, program co-design with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff nationally and material development including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and technical translation, pilot program, program facilitation and evaluation. The approach taken was underpinned by Culturally responsive and relationship-based practice.
Our Result
The approach to the Cultural Capability Program was successful with the collaboration with DOH proving to provide detailed knowledge, understanding and expectations of staff via the training needs analysis and program design, development and facilitation of programs Building Cultural Capability Foundations, Engaging with Community and Culturally Safe Workplaces. Feedback from these programs has been positive with the contract being extended.

Curijo, in collaboration with the Strategic Development Group, proudly supported the DFAT-ASEAN Emerging Leaders Program through a powerful two-day leadership and cultural exchange in 2024.
Day 1 featured a thought-provoking workshop delivered by Co-CEO Tina McGhie and Learning & Development Capability Lead Ingrid Morgan at NSW Parliament House. The session explored Aboriginal History in Australia, Multicultural History, and First Nations Approach(es) to Leadership, followed by a networking lunch with MP Liesl Tesch. The day concluded with a heartfelt gesture as Cambodian delegates presented a meaningful gift, described as “inspiring and spiritual,” symbolising the integration of body, mind, and spirit in leadership.
Day 2 brought participants to Dharawal Country at Sandon Point, Bulli, for an On Country Cultural Immersion. ASEAN delegates and DFAT representatives took part in a Smoking Ceremony, followed by a Yarning Circle with respected Aboriginal Panel Members and Dharawal Elder Uncle Richard. The day nurtured deep cultural reflection, mutual respect, and a genuine connection to Country. Several participants reflected on the impact of colonisation in their own nations and, despite its devastating effects, shared how it inspired them to rise above and rebuild stronger, more resilient communities.
This program exemplified the strength of two-way learning, cultural humility, and leadership grounded in Country—a powerful reminder that leading with purpose begins by listening, honouring, and walking together.
