Kylie is an Aboriginal woman who identifies with the Wailwan and Wiradjuri people. Kylie was born in Nyngan and has lived and worked the majority of her life in Western NSW communities before settling in Bathurst. This has provided Kylie with strong connections and links to many communities across the state. Kylie has significate experience working with children, young people and vulnerable families. Kylie has a proven ability to engage and connect meaningfully with people from many diverse backgrounds and experiences. Kylie is well known and regarded for her connection with children, young people and families in providing support achieving positive outcomes. Kylie’s practice and experience in working collaboratively to produce positive outcomes is high quality and she possesses exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

Kylie has worked at both state and Commonwealth levels of Government and understands the importance of linking policy to real outcomes, engagement with the community and education. Kylie is a strong advocate for self-determination in Aboriginal Communities and known as a leader in this space.


Kylie works as an Aboriginal Consultant and is working from Wiradjuri country in Bathurst. Kylie’s specialised experience is working with both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children, young people and adults within the Child Safety, Out-of-Home Care, Education and Family Support fields.




Kylie has a vast range of experience working with vulnerable and disadvantaged families in the child protection field. Kylie has over 7 years’ experience as a caseworker for Family and Community Services. During this time Kylie has worked with families to support children to be safe in the home and to restore children back to family. Kylie is a strong advocate for Aboriginal Placement Principals, kinship placements, reuniting children with families and keeping Aboriginal children on Country or strongly connected to Country. Kylie’s work in child protection has significant experience in conducting child sexual assault investigations and supporting children and young people who have experienced high level and cumulative trauma.

Kylie has over 10 years’ experience as Senior Education Officer with NSW Department of Education and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. Kylie was the State Coordinator for the Norta Norta and Aboriginal Tuition Program and Aboriginal mentoring programs Sister Speak and Bro Speak.
